Here at Wilkinson, we are proud that all of our children are part of an inclusive environment. To ensure that everyone is valued and supported, we adapt our teaching and learning environment to cater to the needs of each individual pupil. Within each classroom, resources are provided to overcome barriers. These resources are ever changing, but can range from specialised laptops to sensory aids.
We also provide work stations and quiet working spaces, where children can engage without distractions. Our Calming Cove ensures that all pupils have access to an area to work on individual interventions. When not being used for interventions, children are invited to participate in lunchtime clubs, engaging in activities that help build upon their confidence and social skills.
Our school has close links to external agencies, who provide all of our children with bespoke experiences both inside and out of school. These activities are adapted to ensure they are accessible to all children, regardless of individual need. Our most recent interactions have been with Huggle Pets, All Aboard SEND and Kinball.
The Wolverhampton Local Offer sets out all services available to support children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities, from birth to 25 years, and their families.
